Description We are looking for a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join a local government team in Richmond, Virginia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to community members, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and effectively. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to public service in a meaningful way.
Responsibilities:
• Respond to inquiries, concerns, and requests from constituents regarding government services, programs, and policies.
• Provide guidance to individuals navigating government processes and procedures to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather accurate information and deliver timely responses to inquiries.
• Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of local government services, initiatives, and programs.
• Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
• Assist with data entry tasks to record and track interactions and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Direct visitors or callers to appropriate departments or resources as needed.
• Address and resolve customer issues with a focus on delivering effective solutions.
• Support occasional evening or weekend service needs, as required by the organization. Requirements • Proven experience in customer service, preferably in government or public service settings.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and a willingness to learn new systems.
• Availability to work regular business hours, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend shifts.
