Overview:
Robert Half is partnering with a compassionate and impactful nonprofit organization to identify a Customer Service Representative who is dedicated to supporting individuals in need. This role is ideal for someone who is naturally empathetic, skilled in navigating difficult conversations, and driven by a desire to serve others - particularly those facing barriers related to housing, healthcare, employment, or crisis intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as the first point of contact for clients seeking resources or support, providing a welcoming and respectful experience.
+ Handle high-volume inbound inquiries by phone, email, or in-person, often involving sensitive or emotionally charged topics.
+ Actively listen to understand client concerns, demonstrating empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity at all times.
+ Accurately assess client needs and refer to the appropriate internal program, case manager, or community resource.
+ Maintain detailed, confidential case notes in the organization’s CRM or client database.
+ Support intake and follow-up processes to ensure clients receive timely and complete assistance.
+ Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to help deliver wraparound services.
+ Uphold organizational values of equity, dignity, and service in every interaction.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ 1–2+ years of customer service or client-facing experience; experience in nonprofit, social services, healthcare, or crisis response preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage difficult or emotionally sensitive conversations with professionalism and care.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Ability to work with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing trauma, housing instability, or systemic barriers.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client database systems; comfort navigating digital tools in a fast-paced environment.
+ Bilingual Spanish a plus.
