Customer Service Representative
Description We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Customer Service Representative to join a local government entity in Richmond, Virginia. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting community members with their inquiries and ensuring they receive excellent service. Responsibilities: • Respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and service requests from constituents regarding government programs and policies. • Guide community members through government processes and procedures to ensure a seamless experience. • Collaborate with various departments to gather accurate information and provide timely resolutions to customer inquiries. • Maintain a thorough understanding of local government services, programs, and initiatives to provide accurate information. • Handle sensitive information with discretion and ensure confidentiality in all communications. • Utilize computer systems and applications to track and manage customer interactions effectively. • Provide support during high-demand periods, including occasional evenings or weekends, as required. • Continuously improve service delivery by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions. • Deliver exceptional service while maintaining an attentive and courteous demeanor in all interactions. Requirements • Proven experience in customer service, ideally within a government or public service environment. • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with diverse community members. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to address inquiries and resolve issues. • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including data entry and customer relationship management tools. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. • Availability to work regular business hours and adapt to occasional evening or weekend shifts. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple departments and maintain a team-oriented approach. • Commitment to delivering high-quality service and fostering positive relationships with the community.
