Customer Service Representative
Description We are looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring excellent customer experiences by addressing inquiries, processing orders, and resolving claims efficiently. Responsibilities: • Deliver outstanding customer service by handling inquiries, resolving issues, and performing all basic customer service functions. • Process orders, including integrated and non-integrated systems, and ensure timely resolution of errors. • Prepare and provide monthly reports to internal stakeholders, including the Vice President of External Affairs and Customer Service Manager. • Manage customer claims by acknowledging, processing, and filing claims with freight carriers to recover costs for damages or losses. • Utilize various technologies, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Salesforce, and internet navigation, to perform daily tasks effectively. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and services to assist customers and address concerns accurately. • Organize and keep department files current while ensuring data is handled with confidentiality. • Collaborate with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders in a thoughtful and constructive manner. • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of customer service operations. • Provide back-up support for core customer service functions as needed and perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service, preferably with knowledge of Salesforce or similar customer relationship management software. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, and internet navigation, or the ability to quickly learn these tools. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members. • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Self-motivated team player capable of multitasking with minimal supervision. • Ability to build effective relationships with coworkers, customers, and stakeholders. • Commitment to handling sensitive information and data with discretion.
