Join a dynamic team focused on optimizing logistics and delivery systems within a leading transportation and fulfillment technology division. As a Logistics Specialist, you will assist in the management of daily freight movements into and out of North American fulfillment centers, driving efficiency and innovation within a growing sector.
Responsibilities
+ Manage daily freight movements and coordinate between multiple parties to ensure high levels of customer service.
+ Engage in tactical communication and account management with external customers, including carriers and vendors/suppliers.
+ Pull data from databases using Excel, Access, SQL, and other data management systems for ad hoc reporting and analysis.
+ Review data and reports related to appointment and arrival times, making business decisions and process improvements based on reported data.
+ Create narratives outlining weekly findings and variances to goals, and present these findings in a review forum.
+ Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.
+ Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes, identify root causes of defects, and drive efficiency in transportation operations.
+ Systematically escalate problems or variances in data to relevant owners and teams, following through on resolutions.
+ Develop performance metrics to assist with driving business results.
+ Scope out business and functional requirements for tech teams who create and enhance software systems and tools.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with intermediate level experience.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate multiple computer screens, applications, and programs.
+ Experience in manufacturing, transportation, and/or distribution environments.
+ Data management and data quality control experience, with the ability to pull and analyze large sets of data.
+ Demonstrated experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ A completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
+ Transportation and Logistics experience is a plus.
+ Analytical experience, particularly in working with paragon cases.
+ Flexibility to work some weekend shifts as needed.
Work Environment
This team works Monday to Friday in an in-office setting, with no hybrid or remote opportunities. The role requires operational support with a focus on logistics, transportation, and freight movements, providing tactical support to fulfillment networks seven days a week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
