Description

Purpose Purpose:

Research manager will acquire and share primary insight to shape Sysco’s strategy, optimize current business results and understand performance. The role will execute both qualitative and quantitative research against diverse objectives and methodologies.This role will both manage third parties to conduct research and execute studies themselves.Manager will be expected to analyze studies for results and share insights thru diverse tools throughout Sysco.The successful candidate will be a curious, self-starter, with strong attention to detail, with an ability to work in a new growing and ever-changing environment. This role will need to assimilate data and hone in on key insights that drive business recommendations. She/he recognizes that the true measure of success is based on the business impact

Responsibilities:

Research Design and Execution

Design research instruments (surveys, discussion guides) and sampling techniques to gather data  with the highest standardsBuild an ecosystem of research partners to support research initiatives as neededLead in-house execution of  researchManage internal and external research projects with expert-level project management competencies

Primary research analysis, insight creation

Manage a follow-up closed loop process for customer experience issues identified thru researchAnalyze primary research results to foster insights and strategic guidanceImplement and share reporting tools which track and synthesize insightsIdentify opportunities to combine qualitative insight with other data sources to uncover new learning

Insight communication

Leverage different communication tools  (e.g., videos, reports, dashboards) to share results and ensure understanding across the enterprise

Education/Experience:

Master’s degree with a focus on qualitative or quantitative research or Bachelors with 3+ years of relevant job experience3+ years in market research, trends, or similar job function

Technical Skills and Abilities:

Ability to link primary research with analytics model in collaboration with data science & market insights and intelligence teamsAbility to conduct statistical analysis to identify result (a plus)Experience in managing either quantitative or qualitative research (B2B experience preferred)Advanced level of understanding and knowledge of appropriate statistical applications and research design techniques
