Company Description

Robert Bosch LLC seeks Customer Chief Engineer (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 38000 Hills Tech Drive, Farmington Hills, MI 48331. Technical interface to the customer is focused on innovation and the acquisition phase in close collaboration with Product Management and the Global Key Account Manager. Drive the Bosch organization with respect to innovation, acquisition, and technical strategic development through business planning, budgeting, and technical leadership. Act globally for one dedicated OEM across multiple projects and Business Units for innovation, acquisition, and development projects. Actively investigate market and customer requirements/trends and provide feedback to Product Management. Plan the technical customer roadmap, including alignment with the product strategy of Product Management, system engineering, and the Global Key Account Manager. Drive the innovation phase and initiates innovation studies at the customer in close collaboration with Product Management, system engineering, the Global Key Account Manager, and the central sales organization. Understand and influence customer specifications and deliver technical system proposals. Create and own customer-specific technical man mapping and develop relationships with technical decision-makers at the customer. Steer customer-specific development in alignment with the line organization. Support problem-solving with strong analytical skills and technical leadership. Review specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop and prepare comprehensive proposals and comply with all Bosch, IATF 16949, and QS9000 policies and procedures. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Plus 7 years of experience as a Program Manager, System Engineer or occupation involving external customer interface in an engineering, product management, or project management capacity within the automotive industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Multiple Domain product portfolio (software and services); (2) Evaluating technical solutions at vehicle level; (3) OEM customer expectations and pain points; (4) Defining key financial pre-requisites externally and internally to enable solutions; and (5) Defining technical customer strategies while looking across multiple product areas and proposing new ideas and solutions. Travel Requirements: 5-10% international and domestic travel required. Telecommuting: 2-3 in-office days per week.
