Your responsibilities encompass the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring that components are meticulously designed, rigorously tested, debugged, verified, and poised for seamless integration into IBM's world-class hierarchical database solutions. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in aiding organizations to enhance their business outcomes in the global marketplace. Key Duties: * State-of-the-Art Software Solutions: Leverage the latest tools and technologies to deliver state-of-the-art software solutions. * Expert Design and Development: Ensure software components are expertly designed, tested, debugged, and verified to meet the highest standards of quality. * Integration into Hierarchical Database Solutions: Prepare software components for integration into IBM's hierarchical database solutions, contributing to world-class database solutions. * Business Outcome Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of business outcomes for organizations in the global marketplace through the delivery of robust software solutions. * Execution of Development and Testing Tasks: Execute tasks required for development and testing, ensuring alignment with specifications, client requirements, and business needs. This position is open to applicants who reside in Ottawa and is open to applicants seeking a 8-month internship work term, commencing in Jan 2026. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of their work term. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Assist in configuring and maintaining lab equipment * Support development and testing of low-level software for hardware integration. * Help document lab setups, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. * Collaborate with engineers on experimental setups and prototype testing. * Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve lab workflows and system performance. * DevSecOps automated builds and setups. * Availability to be on site in the Ottawa Office 5 days a week. * Candidates must have or eligible to obtain: Secret Clearance- NATO issued by the Government of Canada and Controlled Goods Clearances. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Currently enrolled in from a program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. * Familiarity with low-level programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python for embedded systems). * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting. * Experience with agentic agents or autonomous systems in AI.
