Job Title: Custodian

Job Summary:   

Performs basic cleaning duties and specific custodial functions which includes, removing trash, recycling, removing trash, recycling from office, and break room areas. Dusts, cleans restrooms, sweeps floors, operate a floor scrubber general cleaning / janitorial tasks and other specific requirements of the client’s business segment. Including minor maintenance such as changing filters, belts, changing bulbs, landscaping / snow removal, and escorting vendors. Eyewash inspection, emergency light inspections, and a monthly fire extinguisher inspection to be performed at multiple locations.  Must always work in a safe and professional manner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Removes all trash, recycling

Vacuums all carpeted areas in offices  

Operates cleaning equipment such as a floor scrubbing machine

Cleans breakrooms

Cleans restrooms

Manage Vendors when they come on site

Other maintenance to be performed includes fire extinguisher inspections, bulb changes, filter changes etc.

Landscape / snow removal

Safety Compliance, inspecting fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, etc

Administrative work

Qualifications:    

Education

High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent

Business Experience

0 – 3 Year

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.

Technical Qualifications & Skills

Must be able to operate basic custodial equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors and floor buffing machines.
