A Brief Summary of This Position:

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Custodian position in the Global Coatings Division.  We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be self-motivated and maintain the cleanliness of the Galvanizing offices, break areas, restrooms, and breakrooms. Additionally, you will… sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum office spaces, hallways, restrooms, and breakrooms.

Essential Functions:

Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, baseboards, walls, and fixturesEmpty waste baskets and trash barrelsNotify management of required maintenance or repairs of property and buildingsSalt and shovel doorways and walkways in the wintertimeRemoval of unused dunnage, nails, screws, banding, and other materials that could pose a hazardFollow instructions regarding safe use of chemicals and suppliesMaintain inventory of supplies and request reorder when necessary

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

The ability to communicate problems or needs to departmental supervisionThe ability to lift up to 50 poundsThe ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and kneelThe ability to push, pull, pull, move, and lift objectsMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsThe ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive mannerThe ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructionsHigh awareness for safety at all timesThe ability to recognize hazardous substances and know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety and emergency response

Highly Qualified Candidates Possess:

Six months or more of previous experience in custodial or janitorial positionsSix months or more of previous experience working in an industrial environmentWorking knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety risks
