Custodial Supervisor Webster, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1209+Bay+Rd.+Webster+NY+USA+14580) • Bay View Job Type Full-time Description $20/hr. to $21/hr. and a Free YMCA Family Membership Under the general direction of the Executive Director, this position is accountable for supervising the custodial staff and maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and general maintenance of the facility, both inside and outside. The position requires a commitment to meet superior member expectations in cleanliness and member service. The position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values at the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and accountability to custodial staff. · Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations. · Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the entire branch, including indoor areas and the outdoor campus. · Monitor cleaning standards and address any deficiencies promptly. · Create and manage custodial staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage. · Adjust shifts as needed to accommodate absences, special events, or seasonal needs. · Develop and maintain an optimal cleaning checklist tailored to the facility’s needs. · Order supplies as needed and ensure proper storage and usage. · Ensure custodial practices comply with health, safety, and sanitation standards. · Conduct daily follow-ups with staff to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and consistently. · Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed. · Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and equipment inventory. · Report major maintenance issues to the appropriate department or contractor. · Train staff on safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. · Assist with snow removal and salting sidewalks during inclement weather. · Participate in cleaning locker rooms, bathrooms, offices, program spaces, hallways, and other assigned areas. · Interact with staff, members, and general public in a professional and courteous manner. · Assist in special projects at the branch or other Association facilities. · During shutdown periods, must be available to work if needed. · Attend all required training, meetings and events. · All other duties as assigned Requirements · Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. · At least 6 months prior experience supervising people. · Possess good interpersonal, communication, and organization skills. · Ability to work as a team and independently. · Individuals need experience or ability to comprehend general cleaning, disinfection, hard floor care, carpet care, wood floor care and related equipment operation and maintenance. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Ability to remain standing and moving for extended periods of time. · Work indoors and outdoors in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes. · Mobility within the building, including movement from floor to floor and outside the building. · Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a repetitive basis. · May handle human body fluids and chemicals as part of the daily operational duties.
