Reports to: Principal and Executive Director

Position Overview

The Culture & Climate Coordinator works closely with the Principal and Executive Director to implement and sustain WISH Charter Schools' comprehensive behavior and culture support programs within our diverse and inclusive education model. This position actively engages families, staff, and students in creating a positive school climate that supports academic achievement and personal/social development while maintaining high behavioral and academic standards.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Culture & Climate Leadership

Sustain and monitor a safe, orderly, disciplined culture of high academic and behavioral standards

Manage and oversee the school's culture and climate initiatives

Oversee implementation of the student supervision plan

Partner with senior administration to create cohesive vision balancing structure and creative expression

Discipline & Behavioral Support

Handle discipline matters including PBIS implementation and Tier 1 and 2 infractions

Organize individualized behavior improvement plans for students struggling with compliance

Oversee discipline individual meetings and log behavioral infractions

Assist in implementing positive behavioral support strategies

Support data collection and analysis for at-risk students and discipline metrics

Professional Development & Training

Spearhead training initiatives for teachers by leading classes on topics such as PBIS and RTI

Help teachers develop and diversify instructional abilities to better serve students of different ability levels and backgrounds

Facilitate professional development around classroom management and behavioral support strategies

Student Activities & Programs

Participate in Safety and Security Team initiatives

Support Office Hours, extracurricular activities, and afterschool programs

Serve as WEB Staff Team Lead

Support academic eligibility monitoring and data management

Health & Safety

Administer medications to students as needed

Assist in observing and recording data related to behavior 

Maintain confidentiality regarding individual student information and needs

Collaboration & Communication

Participate in staff development activities and professional development opportunities

Attend required meetings including team meetings and training sessions

Model respectful, professional relationships with all stakeholders

Create positive school culture by greeting others, maintaining positive attitude, and collaborating effectively

 

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience in educational settings, particularly with behavior management and school culture

Knowledge of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and RTI (Response to Intervention)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations

Experience with data collection and analysis

Medication administration certification or willingness to obtain

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in charter school or similar educational environment

Background in special education or behavioral support

Training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques

Bilingual capabilities (Spanish preferred)

 

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and position students with special physical needs

Capacity to supervise students in various school environments

Ability to respond quickly to behavioral incidents and emergencies

Wear identification badge during all work hours

Adhere to all school policies and procedures

Maintain appropriate boundaries with students and families
