The Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital Department of Imaging team has the skills and expertise to provide the full spectrum of imaging services. From routine scans to in-depth evaluations, patients have access to every test they may need within our health system. As a CT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant on this team, you will perform a variety of supportive tasks, including dispensing of department stock, stocking rooms daily, preparing oral contrast and exam data entry.  In this role, you will promote a patient-driven philosophy, exhibiting positive behavior that supports and enhances their care experience. This position is an excellent entry into the healthcare field at Cleveland Clinic. 

A caregiver in this position works day/evening rotation and 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Sundays + on-call. Hours may vary

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Assure rooms are set up properly before beginning of procedure. Clean rooms promptly post-procedure. Assure patient modesty and comfort, assist patients with changing, answer call lights as appropriate and report any change in patient's condition or behavior. Assure patient is discharged to appropriate destination. Check proper identification of patient per policy and create patient identification bands. Schedule scans and watch queue. Verify physician exam order, look at needs of patient and initiate communication and inpatient flow. Document patient history, conditions and any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes, additional exams, and order revision. Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS, when applicable knowledge in after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork immediately reporting any malfunctions to Help Desk and PACS Administrator. Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.  Operate all equipment properly and with care. Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers, demonstrating cooperative efforts with coworkers and the ability to accept constructive criticism. Assess the patient's readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion. Determine the best methodology to deliver education and receive verbal feedback or return demonstration to validate learning. Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge when appropriate. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma or equivalent with emphasis on communication, computer skills and science coursesSuccessful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red CrossComputer skills, broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, organized, and good interpersonal skills with all customer groups in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

One year of experience in a healthcare related field OR current radiology student 

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
