Position Summary / Career Interest:The CT Team Lead is accountable for assisting with the daily operations of the CT Department. This includes the oversight of all technical, business and personnel related aspects of ensuring safe patient care. The CT Team Lead provides patient care.
Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsAssists the Supervisor and leadership with oversight of the imaging and personnel in CT.
Responsible for the overall troubleshooting, evaluation and performance of all equipment in the division.
Responsible for ensuring that all division activity is performed in an efficient, organized and safe manner.
Responsible for the preparation of all reports and documentation to support the division including budgets, purchasing, staffing, performance improvement, research, Radimetrics/dose monitoring, etc.
Assists divisional leadership with divisional paperwork as assigned.
Responsible for completion of mandatory educational assignments as provided by divisional leadership.
Assist all staff in self-development and improvement and provide opportunities for them to become engaged in new procedures, frontline leadership, or personal development.
Plan, develop and monitor quality initiatives to help improve patient outcomes, cost reduction or productivity measures.
Work with Radiology leadership and Department SR Director as requested to support various teams, committees and performance improvement activities.
Performs direct patient care as required to meet patient care needs.
Must be able to step in and perform all procedures independently without assistance.
Works assigned shift and in addition to regular weekly duty hours and responsibilities, Obtains properly completed examination consultation requests, patient’s clinical history, previous diagnosis reports, images and/or records for the radiologist to use for interpretation and diagnostic purposes; checks examination preparation, chart orders; assists the divisional leadership in authorizing and rescheduling of on-call or emergency patients; reports organizational problems to the divisional leadership.
Responsible for coordination of all exams in the CT division and at the end of the day, checks the procedure queue to ensure all procedures have been tracked to End Procedure. Oversees the Quality Control Program.
All QC must be met according to the QC schedule that is posted.
Troubleshoot equipment problems and call vendors for service repair when necessary.
Maintain the Daily workload schedule as well as the Callback schedule.
Assists with preparation of the employee schedule one month in advance.
Must have an excellent working knowledge of contrast reactions and response and be available to patient needs.
Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution, patient image archiving, retrieval and network data transfer and tracking of outside images.
Interacts with physicians/providers and other technical staff to provide quality, safe and efficient care for the patient.
Provides instruction to technology students, medical students and residents about exams and equipment when appropriate; does not allow students to assume tasks beyond their ability; coordinates with ancillary personnel such as transporters. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and ExperienceCertificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology
1 to 3 years of experience in the higher level modalities of certification
3 or more years of proven technical competence and expanding leadership accountability in a mid to large size hospital with credible volumes
Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelors Degree degree with meaning related to technical or managerial performance requirements.
Experience in an Academic setting
Required Licensure and CertificationLicensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - State Board of Healing Arts within 90 Days
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Preferred Licensure and CertificationRadiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
