Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Department: CT Scan Position is located: Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Work Type: PRN Hours Per Week: Variable Hours Work Schedule: Variable Summary: Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is pleased to offer an opportunity for direct contracting for CT Technologists to come and experience what it is like to be part of Northern Light Health. We are open to applications from interested CT Technologists who would like to work directly for the organization in a traveler like role. The CT Technologist will become part of our team as temporary per diem employees for a period of 12 weeks. Technologists will be scheduled as needed based on patient care needs. Positions are available on both nights and days. The technologist will operate CT equipment to produce studies of various anatomical structures of the body with the least discomfort to the patient to provide images of diagnostic quality. The CT Technologist may be involved in part of a procedural team and will treat patients of all age groups to include infancy, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics. Responsibilities: + Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process. + Operate and maintain CT equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration before and after each exam. Perform and document daily QC checks, equipment warm-ups, and image audits per regulatory and department standards. + Accurately completes all necessary documentation and charges in a timely manner. + Review patient history and practitioner orders to ensure the correct imaging procedure is performed. + Practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize exposure to self, patients, and others. + Adjust technical factors based on patient size, condition, and area of interest to produce diagnostic-quality images. + Perform CT procedures utilizing appropriate imaging protocols based on clinical indications, patient condition, and provider orders, ensuring diagnostic accuracy. + Start IV’s and administer contrast agents per protocol, adhering to hospital policy and guidelines for contrast safety. + Other duties.
