With 4 operating rooms, 34 inpatient care rooms, and a helipad, we are making it easier than ever for our Lake County patients to access high-quality care close to home. Certified CS/SPD Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining surgical tools and hospital equipment. The CS SPD Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Sterile Processing or Central Sterile Supply unit. You are responsible for checking equipment to make sure it is in good repair and up to date.
A caregiver in this position works days, from 7:00am—3:30pm, with weekend and rotating holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Prepare and evaluate daily staff assignments for assigned shifts.
Ensure staff comply with department and Cleveland Clinic policies, procedures, and protocols.
Assess quality of services delivery to ensure department quality standards are met, turnaround time is efficient and OR needs are met.
Provide performance feedback to employees, and when applicable, corrective action.
Lead department employee engagement activities.
Facilitate staff development programs including in-services on product usage and infection control.
Assist in orienting new employees and may act as preceptor.
Collect data and prepare reports concerning instrument distribution, loss, and replacement.
Administers an instrument preventative maintenance program.
Use the department's instrument and productivity tracking program to maintain accurate records regarding sterilization and set assembly count sheets.
Establish internal inventory levels and maintain levels in accordance with set standards.
Establish par level stocks and monitors for proper utilization, as applicable.
Actively seek ways to eliminate errors, reduce turnaround time, maintain workflow, and improve customer service.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A high school diploma or GED.
Sterile Processing Distribution certification (CRST) by IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
Two years of SPT and/or related O.R experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
CS/SPD Lead Technician experience.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds.
Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.
Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
