Join us and be part of the next wave of transformative care at Cleveland Clinic. As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. In this role, you will receive ample support, training and education, including knowledge of operating the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and sterilization tools and concepts. **A caregiver in this position works 2nd shift Monday - Friday from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. with weekend on-call rotation.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment. + Provide case cart management. + Properly handle equipment, instruments and chemicals while adhering to preventative maintenance schedules and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards during the decontamination process. + Perform preventative maintenance. + Scan, sort, inspect and assemble, wrap and label instruments by instrument list as documented in the procedure. + Perform record keeping functions within the electronic tracking system, including processing, sterilization and quality assurance documentation. + Build case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatch them to appropriate locations. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED + Sterile Processing Distribution Certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) within 18 months following new hire period + Military experience as a Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F) or similar considered Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + One year of healthcare experience or a similar background in Mechanical/Manufacturing Assembly **Physical Requirements:** + Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds. + Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds. + Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination. + Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. + Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $19.50 Maximum hourly: $27.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
