Job Description

Crystallization Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

Support crystallization process development activities of the group through laboratory experiments, including solubility screening experiments, kinetic solubility and metastable zone width measurements, and laboratory-scale crystallization experiments.Hands-on generation of solid-state characterization data using powder X-ray diffraction.Analysis of product samples for key physical properties, including particle size distribution and particle shape, using optical microscopy and laser diffraction particle size analysis.Support of technical initiatives that may involve the design, installation, repair, and maintenance of specialized laboratory equipment.  Comfortable with multitaskingIndependent and systematicExcellent problem-solving skillsGood written communications, including use of electronic laboratory notebooksHands-on experience with relational databases and complex spreadsheets

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess :

Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
