As a Cross Connection Specialist, based in Prescott Valley, AZ, you perform and oversee a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a Public Water System including compliance reporting, maintenance of equipment, quality control/testing and assigning/performing day-to-day activities on an assigned shift. This position typically holds a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Verifies and documents Backflow Assemblies for operation, compliance and testing certificates.
• Verifies and documents Backflow Assembly locations, Manufacturer and S/N.
• Ability to professionally provide excellent customer service to the Client and Public.
• Proficient with Backflow tracking program Tokay or like program.
• Proficient with computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and other programs.
• Creates and submits all required compliance reports as well as client requested reports.
• Ability to Safely work alone or with groups and follow all Job Safety Requirements.
• Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels
• Observes variations in operating conditions and inter¬prets meter and gauge readings
• Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
• Performs routine mainte¬nance functions and custodial duties
• Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel
• Understands and carries out oral and written directions
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work
• Performs on call duties for the Distribution Department and other departments upon request
• Performs other duties as required
• High school diploma or GED
• Must hold a valid Backflow Assembly Tester Certification or obtain with 6 months
• ADEQ/ABC Water Treatment level 1 Certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year
• ADEQ/ABC Water Distribution level 1 Certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year
• Minimum of four years’ experience in Backflow Assembly Testing, Water Production/Water Treatment or related field.
• Possess a valid Drivers License
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
• Basic familiarity of the principles and practices of a Public Water System’s Backflow Prevention Program.
• Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems like Tokay.

The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
