Credit Trading desk makes a secondary market in, and stands ready to purchase and sell, corporate bonds for Truist Securities fixed income investor clients and support our bond origination and syndication business.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. In connection with market making, Truist is typically required to maintain an inventory of positions (both long and short), and to establish positions to facilitate liquidity on behalf of our clients.
2. Responsible for managing individual credit trading book with multiple sectors including but not limited to risk management, trade execution, trade analysis, sector analysis, idea generation, and hedging.
3. Accountable for P&L generation and maintaining market share in assigned sectors
4. Active communication and dialog with Credit Research team to define views and trading strategy within the respective industries covered.
5. Independently analyze and evaluate credit market and security specific opportunities.
6. Develop and maintain client relationships across the Credit account base.
7. Work closely with Debt Capital Markets and coverage banking teams to successfully originate and distribute Truist Left Lead deals.
Level-specific duties:
1. Works closely with traders and research analysts to support the trading desk.
2. Responsible for trade execution and inquiry, operations management, P&L reconciliation, and daily reporting.
3. Duties also include but are not limited to: security valuation, financial modeling, statistical analysis, research, programing (Python) and presentation development.
4. Develops knowledge and understanding of technology and systems and acts as a technology liaison that is responsible for system development, process improvements, and electronic trading.
5. Learns the business, develops an understanding of the markets, and shows proficiency in daily trading tasks in order to progress to a risk taking capacity.
6. Works closely with internal groups to ensure trading desk runs smoothly and assists with all aspects of position monitoring/reporting.

5. Some related work experience since graduating from an undergraduate program

2. Technology / Coding experience (Python, R, VBA, ect.)
