As an Associate in our Credit Risk Team, you will be instrumental in assessing and managing credit risks for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients in Wealth Management. Your responsibilities will involve evaluating consumer and business credit applications by examining financial statements, credit reports, and other pertinent data to conduct a thorough credit analysis, ascertain risk levels, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Job responsibilities:
Evaluate Wealth Management credit requests utilizing applicable Credit Risk Policies and Guidelines.Analyze business/entity/personal financial statements, public information sources, credit reports, and other relevant information to calculate cash flow and balance sheet ratios. Utilize these ratios and evaluate other qualitative factors to determine a client’s risk of default following J.P. Morgan Wholesale Risk Grading Methodology to comply with Basel III standards for regulatory risk grading requirements, and any other applicable policies or regulations.Complete analysis of the collateral and/or loan covenants/ events of default to determine the potential loss in a default situation.Independently identify and clearly articulate risks and mitigating factors that could impact the client’s ability to repay the loan and recommend a course of action with clear and concise rationale.Understand and clearly articulate geo-political risks and jurisdictional issues that impact our domestic and cross-border clients. Engage in regular dialogue with Front Office to obtain required information critical to making a loan and negotiate loan structure and terms when necessary, providing alternative solutions when appropriate.Escalate credit issues to Credit Approvers or senior management as appropriate, and provide solution(s) and/or next steps for resolution. Work with Credit Platform Services to ensure a seamless and timely delivery of credit approval to the client, while maintaining a strict regulatory and control environment. Coordinate seamlessly with Credit Analysis teams worldwide, assisting with duties in Geneva and other regions as needed, while serving as a culture carrier by fostering strong collaboration, proactiveness, team spirit, and innovative thinking within the team.Participate in innovation, policy/guideline documentation review, control activities, legal entity activities, and process improvements across the entire Credit Analysis locations.Engage in special projects and additional tasks as assigned, assist the Manager with ad-hoc tasks and serve as a backup for the Manager when needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Post Graduate degree required: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management.At least 6 years of relevant Credit experience in the industry,.Possesses strong analytical and organizational skills, problem-solving capabilities, and a keen attention to detail, enabling effective performance in a high production environment while consistently meeting or exceeding targets for volume, timing, and quality.Demonstrates very strong communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels across different teams and geographies, contributing to the strategic direction of the firm and the team while navigating diverse cultures.Must have a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork to contribute to high-performing teams through development of self and others.Has proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
