What is the Credit Research Analyst responsible for?We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the liquid credit research team as an associate. Liquid credit research covers the leveraged loan and high yield bond markets, primarily in Europe. The ideal candidate will be collaborative and able to support multiple senior analysts in evaluating credit risk of existing investments, as well as potential new investment opportunities. A robust understanding of financial statements is a must, and financial modelling skills are required. Beyond modelling, the role will also entail other forms of due diligence, including summarizing and analyzing earnings results, interacting with management teams, and synthesizing third party research, including sell side and rating agency research. Overall, the analyst will play a key role helping the research team evaluate, both qualitatively and quantitatively, the credit risk of our investments in leveraged loans and high yield bonds.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Credit Research Analyst?
Key Responsibilities:
Financial model construction and maintenance
Collaboration with senior analysts to diligence existing and potential investments utilizing all available resources: Bloomberg, 3rd party research, expert networks, etc.
Understanding and analyzing credit terms and documents
Analysis of relative value and comparable transaction analysis, including creation and maintenance of standardized relative value comparison tables
Construction of credit papers for presentation to Alcentra Investment Committee(s)
General industry analysis on assigned sector(s)
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?Knowledge, Education, And Experience:
2-3 years of experience analyzing financial statements, ideally with a leveraged finance / credit focus
MBA from a premier business school, and CFA progress a plus
Ability to work independently, and handle multiple tasks
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Job Level - Individual Contributor
Work Shift Timings - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
