The Credit Portfolio Group (CPG) Lending team is responsible for managing the loan portfolio through fundamental credit analysis, generating trade ideas, and supporting portfolio managers and traders. The team focuses on formulating credit and relative value views, building models, performing valuations, and communicating strategies to senior management.
Job Responsibilities:
Support the management of the loan portfolio through credit analysis alongside senior portfolio managers and traders. Create, manage, and analyze CPG structured trades. Formulate credit and relative value views around positions in the portfolio. Build and maintain models projecting future cash flows and perform valuation work. Formulate portfolio management strategies and communicate them to portfolio managers and senior management.Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Extensive experience in a banking, research role, or accounting-focused role, such as a desk analyst or investment banking analyst. Demonstrated ability to cover multiple credits in a dynamic environment, efficiently evaluating opportunities in response to news and market changes. Proficiency in analyzing financial statements, financial modeling, and valuation with knowledge of relative value. Strong Excel skills with a focus on data analysis, manipulation, and organization. Prior use of or knowledge of Python and Tableau are a plus; prior experience with Bloomberg is highly valued.Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
A passion for following financial markets and an interest in investing; in-depth knowledge of loans, CDS, bonds, equity, and structured products are a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills; prior experience in pitching trade ideas is a plus. A CFA, or progress toward a CFA, is a plus but not required.This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity.
