To ensure the efficient running of the assigned Credit Portfolio and execute the Credit Risk strategy with a view to maximising the return on capital employed whilst maintaining an acceptable level of risk in terms of the Bank’s credit ethics

Role Overview:

To investigate all potential or actual losses to the Bank due to suspected criminal activities, or other related operations, internally and externally

Are you someone who can:

Oversee the optimization of credit processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Collaborate with IT & other relevant teams to leverage technology for improving credit operations, such as implementing automation and digital solutions to streamline workflows.

Provide oversight on timely execution of quality deal conclusion and timely response to customer queries to influence customer satisfaction index and the bank’s retention strategy.

Provide custodianship and repository of the bank’s credit frameworks, policies, and processes, as well as securities

Review credit risk Management Information and analysis provided by the Credit team, to identify risk and emerging trends to inform decision-making and improvement of business processes and policies for effective credit risk management, and to escalate and manage breaches where applicable.

Provide training to credit teams on updated policies, procedures, and technological tools to ensure consistency and adherence to credit standards across the bank.

Design and implement standardized credit processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency in credit decision-making and risk management practices.

Foster collaboration between credit, risk, business, and technology teams to ensure alignment of objectives and effective implementation of initiatives.

Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of credit processes, policies and technology enhancements, providing regular reports to senior management.

Work closely with risk management teams to identify and mitigate credit-related risks, ensuring the bank maintains a strong credit portfolio.

Establish mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders that support thought leadership, innovative and integrated practice solutions.

Build relationships that allow for the managing of expectations; the sharing of knowledge and diverse insights; and the creation of buy-in.

Drive strategic relationships with relevant peers to enable optimisation of the business value chain.

Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and market dynamics, continuously learning and adapting strategies to remain competitive and innovative.

Analyse information and reports to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision making purposes.

Lead implementation of performance management plan that optimises delivery and builds a culture of recognition and fairness across the business area.

Demonstrate leadership behaviour through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organisational values.

Manage a team of dynamic individuals that can adapt to changing market environments whilst managing the credit risk of the bank within risk appetite.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

Have a Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business/Engineering

Management courses completed will be an advantage.

Have 5 to 8 years of experience in banking and credit in a senior role.
