Description We are looking for a Credit/Collections Supervisor/Manager to join our team in Compton, California. This role involves leading a team of professionals focused on managing accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with construction-related credit laws, and supporting company operations through effective credit and collections strategies. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of credit processes within the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage a team of collectors, including one specializing in lien releases, ensuring team performance and growth.
• Conduct regular reviews of aging reports and individual portfolios to monitor account statuses and identify areas needing attention.
• Handle escalated accounts and resolve complex collection issues to maintain positive client relationships.
• Ensure timely preparation and processing of preliminary notices, lien releases, and legal compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to report on collections progress and implement strategies to improve outcomes.
• Utilize Business Central (Microsoft Dynamics) and proprietary systems to monitor accounts receivable workflows and credit processes.
• Perform basic sorting and filtering tasks in Excel to analyze data and support team operations.
• Ensure adherence to legal processes related to collections, liens, insurance companies, and lender coordination.
• Maintain accurate records and provide support for litigation or legal escalations when necessary. Requirements • Proven experience within the construction industry or related fields such as real estate, legal work involving contractors, or lien management.
• Prior supervisory experience in credit and collections, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction credit laws, lien rights, and insurance or lender procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft tools, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel, with basic functionality skills.
• Familiarity with Business Central or similar systems used for accounts receivable management.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with a collaborative approach to leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
