Credit And Collections Specialist
Job Title: Credit and Collections Specialist Job Description This position encompasses both credit and collections responsibilities. The role involves establishing and maintaining effective credit procedures, including reviewing data from credit reports, credit references, internal payment history, and collaborating with sales personnel. The collections aspect focuses on maintaining effective policies to ensure the quality of trade accounts receivable. You will manage a portfolio of 300-400 customers with approximately five million dollars in trade accounts. Responsibilities + Establish and maintain effective credit procedures. + Review data from credit reports, credit references, and internal payment history. + Collaborate with sales personnel to assess creditworthiness. + Implement and maintain collection policies to ensure trade accounts receivable quality. + Manage a portfolio of 300-400 customers, ensuring 80% of the portfolio remains current. + Communicate with customers via email and phone regarding their accounts. Essential Skills + Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, accounting, or tax. + Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP. + General accounting knowledge with an understanding of debits and credits. + Strong customer service skills. + Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. + Ability to manage oneself and prioritize tasks effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Open to college graduates with a degree in business or accounting. + Ability to handle high-stress situations. + Professional demeanor with a fun and engaging personality. + Attention to detail and follow-through on tasks. Work Environment The role is 100% onsite with a team of 15 people. You have the flexibility to choose your work hours, starting between 7-9 AM and ending between 3:30-7 PM. This team has been a top performer for the last five years, and the company offers a stable work environment with no layoffs during economic downturns. There is no formal training, but you will receive hands-on guidance from peers through shadowing. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LINCOLN, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
