We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Credit and Capital Management Data Risk and Control Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

In support of our ambition to be the world’s #1 Corporate and Institutional Bank, we are accelerating our plans to improve our Credit and Capital Management (CCM) processes to drive better customer outcomes and enable growth. Credit and Capital Management COO aspires to establish a world class end to end credit management function, uplift customer experience, deliver a modern risk management capability and mechanisms to actively manage and distribute the Bank’s balance sheet.

The Data Risk and Controls Manager is responsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, and governance of data-related risks within the CCM. This role ensures that effective data controls are in place to safeguard data assets and comply with regulatory requirements. The Data Risk and Controls Manager will work closely with various teams to enhance data governance practices and promote a culture of risk awareness across CCM. This role is will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks within CCM. This role ensures the integrity, security, and effective management of data assets, aligning with HSBC's data strategy and regulatory commitments. Data Risk and Controls Manager will focus on data ownership and ensuring data quality and governance are integral to CCM product development and management.

In this role you will

Manage the CCM data governance committees and working groups to ensure alignment with the CCM overall deliverables

Monitor data governance metrics and Key Control Indicators, reporting on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives to senior leadership

Govern data quality remediation projects, ensuring stakeholder expectations are met, data is accurate and consistent across all systems for both issues that are owned by CCM and those that impact CCM

Implement data quality assurance processes, including an attestation process for CCM data quality and accuracy

Ensure a sustainable monitoring process is implemented to reduce the impact of similar issues from reoccurring in the future

Benchmark data quality through audits and establish metrics

Integrate analytics to monitor governance Key Performance Indicators and support strategic decisions

Drive management plans, milestones, Red Amber Green status and progress tracking for the respective initiative. Also be accountable for all reporting for the programme(s) and initiatives
