Job Purpose
The Credit Analyst is responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of individuals, companies, or organizations applying for loans or credit. The Credit Analyst analyzes financial data, reviews credit reports, and evaluates the borrower's ability to repay the loan or meet their financial obligations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The Role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conduct thorough analysis and assessment of credit requests, including new requests, changed requests, and credit limit reviews for trade credit.
Underwrite new credit applications.
Provide recommendations tied to the analysis and assessment of credit risk.
Keep up with the company’s lending protocols.
Reconcile credit files and identify discrepancies and variances.
Approve new account set up, profile changes, and regular credit reviews.
Based on a review of aging reports or credit holds, push for collections to resolve delinquent accounts that are on hold.
Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.
Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.
Other departmental duties or projects as assigned.
Education & Experience
Three to five years of collections experience or other business-related fields.
Strong logical reasoning skills.
Ability to contribute to the quality process by learning new procedures and functions within the department as needed.
Good business math skills to accurately understand and process customer account status.
Working knowledge of MS Office, with excellent skills in Excel; ability to learn SIMS and other web-based applications.
Ability to establish a good rapport with vendors, customers, branch employees, department personnel, freight carriers, and other corporate employees using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette, and other effective interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and prioritizing skills, customer service skills.
Ability to establish excellent rapport with customers, sales representatives, branch management, and other corporate employees using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette, and other effective interpersonal skills.

Investigate credit issues and suggest payment options to be approved.
Understanding of business, economic, and industry risk.
