Credit Analyst

Job Description:

The Credit Analyst is responsible for supporting the Credit Team.  This individual is responsible for producing daily reporting and forecasting on credit line utilization. The credit analyst will assist in the credit review process, requesting, filing and spreading financial statements.  This individual will also be responsible for tracking and responding to new credit applications, securing collateral, confirming payments, troubleshooting credit issues, and covering for the Credit Manager when needed.

Responsibilities:

By analyzing financial statements and utilizing other credit tools, evaluate the creditworthiness of counterparties.Reports on expected credit exposure and ensures that credit limits are not exceeded.Stays up to date with the fuel wholesale, energy, and credit industries and with Metroplex’s counterparties. Ensures all trade activity has collateral posted or is within established credit parametersWorks with Accounting, Marketing and Scheduling to resolve issues and questions regarding credit exposure.Negotiates collateral including but not limited to letters of credit and corporate guarantees.Escalates issues to management when dealing with past due accounts or accounts exceeding established credit limits.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field2+ years’ experience in wholesale fuel credit functionFinancial, accounting or commercial trade credit background preferredProficient in Microsoft suite, specifically Excel requiredCommercial bulk commodities experience preferred
