Hybrid Credentialing Specialist Hybrid: 4 Days Remote & 1 Day Onsite Pay Rate: $25-33/HR Location: Egg Harbor Township, NJ Employment Type: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension) Department: Behavioral Health Operations About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credentialing Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of credentialing for behavioral health clinicians. This role is critical to ensuring that the providers meet all regulatory, payer, and organizational standards. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and continuously improving credentialing processes. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the end-to-end credentialing process, including initial credentialing, re-credentialing, and ongoing monitoring. • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for credentialing activities. • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into the credentialing system and maintain complete provider files. • Communicate with clinicians, licensing boards, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to verify credentials. • Track expiration dates for licenses and certifications, ensuring timely renewals. • Maintain strict confidentiality of all credentialing files and sensitive information. • Collaborate with HR, compliance, and clinical leadership to align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. • Participate in audits and prepare documentation for internal and external reviews. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance credentialing efficiency and accuracy. • Train and support new or temporary credentialing staff. • Stay informed on industry standards, payer requirements, and state/federal regulations. Qualifications: • 2–3 years of experience in behavioral health or healthcare credentialing. • Proficiency with credentialing systems (e.g., CAQH, NPPES, PECOS). • Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., NCQA, Joint Commission). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
