Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Credentialing Assistant.

As a Credentialing Assistant at MercyOne, you will complete the day-to-day processes related to Medical Staff enrollment and other various Medical Staff functions and Third Party Payor/Revenue Cycle processing.  Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

Schedule:

20 hours per week.

General Requirements:

Maintain a detailed log of all pending and completed work.

Communicate the results and status of the applications to physicians, payers, managers, and co-workers.

Maintenance of physician enrollment and profiles

Documentation within enrollment database.

Coordinate signatures.

Involves extensive internet work and spreadsheet work.

Ensures the completeness of the initial and reappointment process by conducting self audits as applicable for licensure, education, training, affiliations, board certifications, hospital affiliations and malpractice history.

Prepares completed credentialing applications and reapplications packets for department and division Chair review and recommendations to appropriate committee for approval.

Assists with the preparation of medical staff Credential Committee agendas and ensures appropriate follow-up action is taken in a timely manner.

Develops and maintains a current knowledge base in the area of Medical Staff Services and its relationship within the hospital's organizational structure and to outside agencies.

Participates in data collection and department performance improvement initiatives, including audits, and, focused and ongoing performance evaluations as directed by Credentials and Medical Executive Committees.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).

Associate degree in health-related field preferred.

3-4 years of knowledge of Health care operations or medical staff services experience.

Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel, without assistance; Adobe Acrobat Pro experience a plus

Keyboarding with low rate of error

High attention to detail, ability to prioritize competing tasks, and see processes through from start to completion.

Must be able to work independently with little oversite while still achieving goals

Business and professional communication experience a plus
