About the Team The Customer Experience (Marketing) team works to showcase our brand through the lens of expertise and love. They work to provide a personalized experience for our consumers backed by best-in-class, data-driven marketing capabilities. The Customer Experience team focuses across 4 departments including, Marketing, Creative, Communications, and our Loyalty & CRM team. Everyone brings their own point of view to create a unique experience for the pets and pet parents. About the Location Collaborative & Flexible Work Environment: We believe in fostering growth, teamwork and creativity in a dynamic workplace. This role is based at PetSmart’s Phoenix Home Office, where associates currently enjoy the benefits of in-person collaboration while having the flexibility to work remotely one day per week (a “flex workday” with leader approval), and an expected four days in the office. Onsite Position: This position is considered to be Fully Onsite, work is to be done onsite at a PetSmart location (Phoenix Home Office, PetSmart stores, Merchandise Development Center, Distribution Centers or another PetSmart site). Field Position: This position is considered Field based and is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Field associates will spend their time both traveling to and spending time in various PetSmart locations and can expect to be asked to travel to Phoenix Home Office periodically throughout the year. Field associates typically work out of their home office when not traveling as outlined above. About the Job As a Creative Senior Manager, you're a strong storyteller and a strategic thinker. Your depth in digital, UX, and animation sets you apart. Every design you lead starts with purpose. You balance brand vision with business needs and consistently deliver polished, strategic, on-brand work. You’re able to clearly articulate your creative rationale and mentor others to do the same. Fast, organized, and laser-focused on quality, you’re a powerhouse in a fast-paced environment. You juggle priorities with ease, embrace structure, and thrive in process. You understand briefs deeply and help your team do the same—never missing a beat. A highly versatile creative, you’re fluent in Figma, XD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office on Mac, and familiar with production for both print and digital. You excel at animation and actively seek out new skills, encouraging your team to grow alongside you. You lead with initiative and positivity. You drive innovative, high-impact work and own every project from concept to delivery. Creative Director, Brand Campaigns, Digital and Photo/Video Responsibilities • Guide and direct PetSmart design projects (web/app/email/gift cards/print) • Responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative team. • Execute and deliver creative work based on outlined priorities to meet objectives. • Collaborate with fellow Creatives (designers, directors, copywriters, creative ops/proj mgmt) on a regular basis and become a beloved partner amongst all partners in marketing and ecomm. • Work on high-profile/high-priority projects including daily deliverables and special projects varying in scope. • Create and lead others. Create work while leading team to execute engaging creative. Hold high expectations while motivating and inspiring your team. • Follow projects throughout all stages of creative execution through deployment. Have a firm grasp on your projects and the projects your teams are working on. • Organized, works fast, leads team to do the same, know what questions to ask and develop the most strategic solution for the business. • Determine how to work more effectively and efficiently through new technologies or processes. Consider doing the work in non-traditional ways. • Take ownership, lead initiatives, manage expectations and workload to meet target deadlines. • Clearly understand and work toward the team’s creative vision. • Present to business partners and professionally sell an idea with positive energy and passion. • Confident and collaborative when working with other groups within the creative team and our external partners. • Move quickly and succinctly always understanding we need to do more in less time with elevated outputs. • Have a keen eye for elevated aesthetics through layout, type design, color, photography and graphic elements. • Clearly communicate up to Director, with peers and team. • Have a firm understanding of the PetSmart brand, design needs and technological parameters and know the PetSmart Loyalty Program like nobody’s business. • Always evolve the work and never allow the creative to get stagnant or tired. • Excited to always improve, always try something new. You’re a mover and a shaker. Nothing slows you down. • Understand the need to create efficiencies to operate more quickly while maintaining a high level of creative outputs. • Constantly review work and provide clear, effective, actionable feedback to the creative team in a timely manner that aligns with the brand, the Creative Team Vision and leadership expectations. • Promote collaboration, support, and inclusion to create a positive work environment. • Identify opportunities for creative talent, recruitment and development. • Continuous evaluation of trends, technology, and creative techniques to keep the creative vision and all projects exceeding expectations. Required Skills and Experience • 8+ years of creative team experience with a creative in-house or creative agency group. 4+ years proven experience as a Creative Senior Manager or Sr Art Director that has managed and directed others. Having retail experience in a creative environment is ideal. We are more interested in your experience and if you’re the right fit vs the exact number of years. • Well versed industry-standard creative applications: Figma, XD, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office applications on a mac platform. • Possesses a strong current portfolio of imaginative and compelling digital work. • Strong organizational and time-management skills. Meet commitments and demonstrate excellent follow-through. • Innate ability to present to others and sell an idea. Have confident courage to take on more challenges and grow your career through presenting amazingly engaging work. • Desires to one day reach Assoc CD and CD status, understanding all it takes to reach those goals. • Exhibit professionalism, flexibility and composure under stressful situations. • Trusted partner and collaborator with team, business partners, leaders. • Strategic and critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. • Self-motivated, proactive individual with a positive, energetic attitude. • Is not afraid to give tough feedback or push the team to evolve. • Experienced Creative Senior Manager with a strong understanding of digital design and command over typography, color, layout, branding, and design systems. • Passionate about technology, innovation, and understanding what makes creative highly effective. • Confident enough to constantly bring forth new ideas, new ways of working, new technologies.
