BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair is hiring a highly skilled rigging and crane Craft Manager. The applicant will be responsible for overseeing Riggers, Transportation and Crane Operators and assigning work on multiple projects during a workday and weekends as needed and monitoring progress onboard vessels and docks.
The selected candidate will ensure that appropriate actions are taken to support the timely and cost-effective completion of assigned tasks. Oversees the rigging shop supervision involved in all phases of project performance, personnel functions including hiring, force reductions, promotions and demotions. Ensure compliance and enforcement of company policies, procedures. Must have a working understanding of critical lifts and Navsea standard items along with Coast Guard and ABS rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Responsible for all production activities in execution of projects.
+ Repair and/or ship conversion: planning, organizing, and scheduling within the Machine Dept.
+ Directly leads and manages supervisor within the Machine Shop
+ Operates with considerable latitude for actions or decisions, independently and on own initiative with minimal supervision from Director of Operations and/or Production Manager.
+ Directly supervises inside and outside machinist work on assigned projects to insure and verify conformance to specification.
+ Communicates and passes specifications, blue prints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

+ Responsible for maintaining all machinery and equipment for specific operational performance and optimum utilization as well as ensuring inspections remain current.
+ Responsible for enforcing worker compliance with following appropriate procedures in the areas of production, accuracy control, safety, cost, and quality assurance.
+ Manages multiple projects while meeting rigorous performance standards and demanding schedules.
+ Ensures compliance to all environmental, health and safety policies and quality standards.
+ Assists planners, managers, and superintendents with workflow and strategy.
+ Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and training craft employees to meet requirements of job.
+ Reviews and maintains standard operating procedures.
+ Assist the Director of Operation that plant facilities and equipment are available and in place to accomplish work associated with each projects.
+ Responds positively and decisively in normal and emergency situations.
+ Responsible for maintaining hands-on skills in order to flex between Supervisor and mechanic responsibilities as necessary to complete jobs on schedule.
+ Provide interdepartmental coordination of company operations. Ensure the Production Department's conformance to the company quality policy in accordance with customer and company requirements.
+ The Director of Operations and/or Production Manager may assign additional duties (that are consistent with position).
+ Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures.
+ Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule.
+ Must be able to compute and reasons mathematically

+ Must be effective while minimizing labor and costs related to each project and have a total understanding about PMP and EVM. Plans, prepares, issue for controls production schedules. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ 14 years of experience in the ship repair or shipbuilding industry.
+ 10 years of experience in the ship repair or ship building industry with BS degree.
+ Shipyard related experience as a supervisor over repair and maintenance with proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
+ Thorough knowledge of USCG, ABS, and other guidelines/specifications/requirements.
+ Strong Microsoft Office skills.
+ Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents.
+ Hands on experience in running equipment in a marine environment.
+ The candidate must have a significant amount of operations experience managing technical and skilled craft employees.
+ Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.
+ Must be familiar with NAVSEA standard items , ABS requirements along with customer specifications
+ Places SAFETY above production, quality at all times

**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $105835 - $179920
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
