Position Summary: Performs daily transporting of patients/visitors, via wheelchair/stretcher or assistance with walking, to various destinations throughout the hospital and clinic facilities. Greets all customers entering Guthrie Health.
Education, License & Cert: High school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
Experience: Previous customer service is required. Must be able to read, write, and understand oral and written instructions. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
Essential Functions: 1. Responds to requests for transport via Microsoft Surface Pro or Apple iPad and Vocera. 2. Transports patients/visitors via wheelchair/stretcher and/or assist with walking patient/visitor to their destination in a timely manner. 3. Assists patients/visitors in and out of wheelchair and onto or up from a stretcher. 4. Has knowledge of the Guthrie Clinic facilities, programs and departments and provides information as needed. 5. Maintains knowledge of the community to recommend shopping, motels, restaurants, churches, etc. and provides information as needed. 6. In the absence of a parking attendant, escorts will assist patients/visitors in exiting and entering their vehicles. 7. In the absence of a parking attendant, responsible for valet parking vehicles as requested. 8. Utilize proper body mechanics to prevent injuries. 9. Determines the proper PPE to use in all cases, i.e., seat covers, gloves, hand sanitizer, masks.
Other Duties: 1. Is the initial point of contact for patients and visitors entering the Guthrie Clinic. 2. Responds to emergencies in surrounding work area and dispatches assistance as needed. 3. Attends mandatory monthly department meetings. 4.
