**General Summary**
Provide courier / mail service to all designated departments of the Hospital and other Hospital clients. May be required to: collect, sort and distribute: US mail, lab specimens, inter-departmental mail, pharmaceuticals and other various documents. May be required to transport: specimens, mail, supplies, laundry, money bags, checks, bio-hazardous materials, x-ray films and miscellaneous reports.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
**Essential Functions:**
+ Operate and maintain designated Hospital vehicle
+ Complete and maintain scheduled rounds throughout the Hospital and designated external institutions
+ Collect and distribute: US mail, lab specimens, inter-departmental mail, pharmaceuticals, supplies, laundry, money bags, biohazardous materials, x-ray films and other various documents
+ Transport light to heavy objects using hand truck, cart or pallet jack
+ Complete required reports, records and documentation
+ Ensure the proper and safe handling of all bio-hazardous materials
+ Monitor and respond to pager and cell phone requests
+ Provide immediate transport of "Stat" specimens, supplies or pharmaceuticals when possible
+ Inform and educate Hospital staff concerning postage rates
+ Generate monthly postage reports as needed/Manage US Mail - post outgoing, sort and distribute incoming, Operate and maintain a large volume copy machine, Process volume copy jobs
+ Requires use of computer applications such as hospital information systems, performance management software, education/training software, Microsoft Word, Excel, email and department specific software and web applications
+ Perform similar or related duties as required.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Education:**
+ High School Diploma or GED Required
**Work Experience:**
+ Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required. Required and
+ Previous driving experience Required
+ Courier/driver experience Preferred
**Driver's License Statement:**
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
**Courses and Training:**
+ Must meet Department of Transportation physical requirements - physical exam every two years. Upon Hire Required
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

+ Maintains state of art knowledge of area of specialty, healthcare trends and practice, and populations served
+ Maintains a level of computer literacy appropriate to their role

+ Completes hospital-required reviews, e.g. HIPAA, safety, health screening, care concerns, and others as assigned
