Courier Position Profile

Ensures customer satisfaction by making pick-ups and deliveries in a proficient and timely manner.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Assistant Site Manager, depending on site personnel configuration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Deliver messages, telegrams, documents, packages, and other items to business establishments. Travel to delivery sites on foot, bicycle, automobile, public transportation, or customer vehicles. Maintain a log of items received and delivered. Obtain receipts for delivered articles. Follow appropriate chain of custody protocols (e.g., TRAC). Service delivery vehicle (check fluid levels, refuel, etc.). Perform pick-ups and deliveries by accurately following maps and/or written instructions. Adhere to RICOH Service Excellence performance standards. Operate vehicles safely and lawfully, maintaining compliance with state and company standards. Respond to client requests, ensuring accurate order taking and timely delivery. Complete paperwork in a timely, accurate, and legible manner. Present a professional appearance in accordance with company dress standards. Communicate vehicle safety needs and perform routine maintenance (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations). Meet company attendance standards by being punctual and working scheduled hours and required overtime. Perform other duties as assigned. Work independently and make sound decisions with customer and business needs in mind. Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Typically Required:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid state driver’s license and a driving record that meets company standards. Experience with electronic communication devices and working in a team environment. Basic technical ability (computers, email, TRAC). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to read maps, follow written instructions, and complete paperwork accurately. Good reading comprehension. Professional appearance and demeanor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Competency in performing multiple functional tasks. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Critical thinking and decision-making skills. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands Couriers often work alone and are not closely supervised. Bicycle couriers are exposed to all weather conditions and traffic hazards. Vehicle couriers may carry heavy loads manually or with a hand truck. Must navigate difficult parking, traffic jams, and road construction. Office work occurs in environments with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature/noise levels. Work assignments are diverse and require interpreting, comprehending, and applying complex information. Physical demands include walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. Moderate dexterity required for tasks involving calculators, keyboards, hand tools, and eye/hand coordination.
