As a Courier, you’ll do more than just deliver—you’ll represent the lab and hospital to provider offices and outpatient labs, helping to build trust and strengthen relationships across the care network. This is a provider-fronted position, meaning you’ll be the face of UPMC for many of our partners. You’ll interact daily with provider offices, nursing homes, front office staff, and internal departments, all while ensuring prompt and accurate delivery of essential materials like lab specimens, interoffice mail, x-rays, and packages.

In this role, there will be the opportunity to-

Sort all interoffice and incoming US mail as required. Organize mail for delivery to various drop off/pick up sites around the UPMC. Follow the schedule set by the Office Manager and Administrator of Operations. Answer all pages promptly and take appropriate action to take care of urgent deliveries. Pick up and distribute clean lab coats on assigned days. Maintain confidentiality. Complete compliance training as well as hospital and department fire/safety and infection control training and maintain current knowledge of safety procedures within the hospital and department. Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Perform other duties as assigned.
