Sorts and transports medications throughout the hospital complex/nursing units following established protocols and techniques. Key Responsibilities + Delivers individual medications to nursing units and collects new medication orders PRN bags according to established procedures and schedules. + Maintains professional interactions with Nursing and Pharmacy Management staff. Work occasionally requires contact with patients and/or visitors which involve courtesy. + Handles medications in accordance with established confidentiality policies, procedures and standards. + Keeps work area neat and orderly and free of fire and safety hazards. + Regularly proofreading and checking documents for accuracy and inputting and retrieving words or data into or from and automated computer system Minimum Requirements Education + High School Diploma or GED Experience + Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine. + Ability to understand and respond to written or verbal instructions. + Ability to respond appropriately to instructions, questions or requests for information. + Ability to lift and carrying objects weighing up to twenty pounds.
