Country Control Manager – Maternity Cover (12 Months)
Location: Denmark
Contract: Maternity Cover (Early May 2026 – May 2027)
Start: April 2026 (for handover & onboarding)


About the Role
Shell is seeking an experienced Country Control Manager to join its Finance organisation in Denmark on a 12?month maternity cover. This role operates at the heart of the financial controlling function and will be responsible for monthly financial consolidation, cost allocations across the group, audit management, tax and transfer pricing coordination, and ongoing process optimisation.
You will lead a local team of financial controllers and bookkeepers, collaborate with global finance stakeholders, and support various strategic and operational finance projects. This role is ideal for a hands?on finance leader who thrives in a complex, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Controlling & Reporting Consolidation of monthly financial reporting for Denmark. Allocation and distribution of costs across the group. Lead and continue the merger and liquidation project for several group entities. Manage the full audit process end?to?end. Oversee tax and joint taxation matters, including coordination with external advisors. Support transfer pricing initiatives and compliance. Provide accounting and financial support to the wider organization. Process & Control Optimisation Drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls. Support implementation of new tools, controls, or reporting processes. Participate in or lead various ad hoc finance projects. Collaborate across a global finance function with teams located worldwide.
Team Leadership & Management
You will have direct managerial responsibility for: 4 Direct Reports: 3 Financial Controllers (Denmark) 1 Project Specialist (systems & process optimisation) Indirect Team Oversight: 4 Bookkeepers (Denmark) 2 Student Assistants Coordination with an external consultant in Canada (covering entities in Canada & the US) Leadership Responsibilities Conduct 1:1 meetings, performance and development reviews. Follow up on employee engagement surveys and action plans. Ensure high-quality output, task follow-up, and overall team oversight. Lead weekly coordination meetings and monthly team meetings. IT Systems
Experience with the following systems is an advantage: Business Central Cloud Continia BI Data Warehouse Caseware Profile Requirements Senior experience in financial controlling, accounting, or audit. Strong knowledge of consolidation, tax, transfer pricing, and audit processes. Proven leadership experience in international and matrix organisations. Hands-on approach with strong analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver under tight deadlines. Experience with ERP and digital finance tools (Business Central or similar).
