Job Summary
The Cost Performance Analyst will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the financial performance of IT operations. This position is responsible for analyzing IT costs, driving cost optimization initiatives, and aligning with organizational financial goals. The Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights, routine reports, establish financial controls, and support strategic decision-making. This role is pivotal in driving financial efficiency and transparency across IT projects and operations.
Job ResponsibilitiesMonitor and analyze IT budgets, expenditures, and cost performance metrics to align with organizational goalsProduce and update financial reports, including: Month-End Financials, Project Portfolio, and Cost ReductionBuild and maintain the transparent cost allocation model (fixed + variable) and supporting toolingConduct cost-benefit analyses for IT projects and initiatives, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvementsDevelop and maintain IT budgets in collaboration with department heads, providing accurate financial forecasts and identifying potential risks or opportunitiesAdhere to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, supporting audits and reviews with accurate financial documentationCollaborate with IT teams, finance departments, and senior management to align financial strategies with business objectivesUtilize financial management tools and software to track and analyze IT costs, continuously improving financial processes and systemsPartner with procurement to negotiate vendor contracts and achieve cost-effective solutionsEstablish key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to measure and continuously improve financial performanceProvide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementJob RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred10+ years of experience in financial analysis, IT cost management, or a similar role, with a proven track record of driving cost optimization and financial efficiencyStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to make data-driven decisionsExcellent communication and leadership skills to influence and inspire teamsProficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecastingAdvanced knowledge of financial management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle)Familiarity with IT cost structures, including software licensing, hardware procurement, and cloud servicesCertified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or similar financial certifications preferredIT-related certifications such as IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT) are a plusHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with IT project management methodologies is advantageousExcited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
