Leading Projects to Success

JLL has an opportunity for a Cost Manager with construction expertise and experience to take responsibility for the overall commercial success of technical projects—guiding teams and contractors in each phase to achieve outcomes that exceed clients’ expectations and meet JLL’s commercial objectives. Driven and ambitious by nature, you have a mastery of the ins and outs of business—from products and systems to processes, tools and best practices. You’ll need to collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders, collaborating with teams and taking the time to understand their point of view.

Making clients our first priority

The best person for this job is one who always considers what’s best for our clients. As such, you’ll maintain a strong and positive relationship with our clients by identifying their needs, requirements and constraints. While you act in the clients’ best interests throughout the project duration, you must make sure that the project’s revenue and payment cycles are properly managed.

Key Responsibilities

General Cost Oversight

Maintain accurate cost data including ROMs, funding categories, contracts, and invoicingDevelop site-level cost reports with variance analysisSubmit and manage cash flow forecasts and accrualsEscalate funding delays and cost risksReview invoices and resolve discrepanciesSupport contract drafting and claims loggingEnsure data integrity and escalate issues

Project Lifecycle Support

Intake Phase: Validate ROMs, funding attributes, and support procurement strategyPre-Construction: Manage funding requests, develop budgets, review bids and contractsExecution: Track budget utilization, manage change orders, log savingsCloseout: Ensure timely financial closure and provide cost performance data

Deliverables

ROM estimates for all scheduled projectsCost reviews and recommendations for RFPs, claims, and change ordersWeekly to annual site cost reportsCash flow and accrual tracking throughout project lifecycleInvoice reviews and payment recommendationsFinancial closeout reports and documentation

Must be able to work in a fast-track environment with data centre (or similar critical facilities / construction) experience preferredProject Controls / Cost Management experienceExcellent and persuasive communication skillsExcellent analytical, logical and reporting skills10+ years’ experience in a related fieldStrong understanding of construction projects cycle, scoping, planning, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning and close out, and handover to operations teams.Project management qualification preferred (PMI / PMP) but not essentialExcellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and reporting skillsLogical approach and high attention to detailBachelor's degree in Engineering / Construction / Quantity Surveying or Commercial related disciplines preferred
