Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team in providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis and project cost estimation, ensuring that all quotes align with customer requirements and internal margin targets.
Responsibilities
+ Develop comprehensive cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, overhead, freight, and other project-related expenses.
+ Produce timely, accurate quotes that align with customer requirements and internal margin targets.
+ Analyze costs to identify potential risks, cost drivers, and opportunities for savings or optimization.
+ Source, review, and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure completeness and competitiveness.
+ Partner closely with project managers, engineers, sales, and finance to validate assumptions and scope.
+ Monitor actual project costs against estimates, investigate variances, and update estimates as needed.
+ Maintain estimating records, historical cost data, and documented lessons learned to improve accuracy and efficiency on future bids.
+ Support bid preparation, proposal development, and pricing reviews.
+ Perform additional duties as required to support business and operational needs.
Essential Skills
+ 5 - 8 years of experience in cost estimation or a similar role.
+ Strong modeling experience in Excel.
+ Strong understanding of cost and cost drivers, and integration into a complete quote.
+ Detail-oriented and accuracy-driven.
+ Proven experience with ERP or CRM systems, preferably SAP.
+ Strong analytical and math skills.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Experience with leases is helpful.
+ Manufacturing or government contracting experience.
Work Environment
This position requires a hybrid work schedule, with onsite work from Tuesday to Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday. The role demands the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment. Candidates should be detailed, self-motivated, results-oriented, and analytical.

This is a Permanent position based out of Abingdon, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
PTO, 401k, health insurance

This is a hybrid position in Abingdon,MD.
