Cost Engineer

Johnson Service Group is looking for a contract Cost Engineer (Remote).
Production costing is essential for this role. Looking for people that have “Production Bottom Up Cost Modeling”. Understanding the costing of material and the process steps and cost required to get it through a C&C machine. Setup, runtime, labor, Product exchange time, coatings and all these factors. The Engineering approach to cost analysis in a production of an item ( ie. Brackets)
Position Responsibilities:
Performing varied simple to moderate analyses of aircraft systems including preparation of parametric, analogous, and detailed bottom-up cost estimates
Supporting design trade studies and cost reduction initiatives throughout the product life cycle
Supporting supplier engagements with “Should Cost” analysis of aircraft systems
Evaluating part manufacturing processes for cost out opportunities
Establishing cost targets and reporting cost performance metrics for integrated product teams
Evaluating costs of equivalent supplier products for best value
Preparing Independent Cost Estimates (ICE) for proposal evaluations
Promoting standardization of cost engineering best practices across programs
2+ years of experience in a wide range of estimating activities is preferred but not required
Prior experience working with U.S. government customers is preferred
Specific knowledge of one or more cost estimating software systems (TruePlanning, aPriori, SEER, etc.) is preferred
Aerospace and Defense experience in new product development, production, and sustainment is preferred
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) are required
Strong writing and presentation skills required
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Accounting, Economics or Business
