Cost Engineer
  Job Title: Cost Engineer     GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR PURPOSE OF JOB:   Analyze, calculate, and control the consumption of materials and supplies, as well as the production costs associated with garment manufacturing, to ensure profitability, operational efficiency, and accurate decision-making throughout the production chain.   RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Item Responsabilidad / Función % Tiempo 1 Conduct consumption analysis of raw materials by style, size, and component. 20% 2 Calculate and update cost specification sheets by product or style 15% 3 Determine and review fabric and material yields, identifying optimization opportunities. 10% 4 Evaluate deviations between theoretical and actual consumption, identifying causes and proposing improvements. 10% 5 Monitor production orders to validate the proper use of materials and supplies. 5% 6 Collaborate with the design, purchasing, engineering, and production departments in the development of new products and cost optimization. 20% 7 Support the preparation of budgets and production cost projections. 5% 8 Maintain an updated database of prices, suppliers, and standard consumption. 5% 9 Prepare recurring cost and consumption reports for management. 10%     SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:   Number of people DIRECTLY supervised Title(s) of direct report(s) None N/A     JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS:  Note that (i) computer literacy and working-level skill with the basic MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer), (ii) good verbal and written communication skills, (iii) good interpersonal skills, and (iv) the ability to work well both individually and in a team environment are default requirements for all Jostens exempt and salaried nonexempt employees.     REQUIREMENTS   • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost and consumption analysis in textile or apparel companies (preferred).
• Knowledge of textile manufacturing and garment production processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP systems management (experience with AS400, Oracle, or others is a plus).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Proactive mindset and focus on continuous improvement.
