Role Overview
The Cost Engineer / Senior Cost Engineer will support the Cost Lead and Lead Cost Engineer in the consolidation and management of the Feasex, Expex, and Capex portfolio costs across Upstream and Midstream projects. This role plays a strategic part in ensuring cost transparency, control, and reporting accuracy, with exposure to business leadership and the opportunity to influence project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Perform project services for one or more strategically significant projects within a functional or organisational discipline. Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all reporting platforms. Coordinate the change management process, including the maintenance of the trend register. Assist in the preparation of monthly Joint Venture (JV) billings. Collate and prepare materials for management presentations and meetings. Support the production of cost reports for submission to Group. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cost engineering processes. Work within Shell’s Project Services policies and frameworks, with autonomy to adjust objectives and plans as needed. Skills & Experience Required Minimum 5 years’ experience in cost engineering, preferably within the oil & gas or energy sector. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail. Working knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and Power BI is advantageous. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Positive attitude and a motivated, collaborative team player.
