Under the direction of the Cost Control Manager, the individual supports Cost Accounting and Financial Control for Major E&P production assets.

Lead cost accounting and financial oversight for high‑value producing oil & gas assets, delivering actionable financial insights and strategic recommendations to the VP‑Asset Manager and senior leadership to optimize financial performance and align with corporate objectives.Direct the creation, execution, and optimization of annual budgets and long‑term plans for major production projects with a combined $350M budget, ensuring robust financial planning, accounting accuracy, and compliance with internal standards.Serve as the primary point of contact for all financial and cost accounting matters with the Operator, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment on financial objectives and reporting requirements.Spearhead all facets of project financial management and cost accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, value of work done (VOWD), variance analysis, and monthly close processes, ensuring precision, accuracy, and adherence to organizational priorities.Collaborate closely with the VP‑Asset Manager, project management teams, Financial Reporting, and the Operator to align financial control strategies with project goals, providing executive‑level insights to drive informed decision‑making.Design and enforce sophisticated cost budgets and financial monitoring systems, leveraging economic modeling to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks across high‑value assets.Actively participate in Operator technical and financial meetings to evaluate operational deviations or work program changes, providing expert financial analysis on budgetary impacts to inform strategic decisions by the VP-Asset Manager. Deliver comprehensive, data‑driven variance analyses for budgets and forecasts, producing executive decision‑support packages and presentations for senior leadership.Oversee the preparation of precise monthly cost estimates, accruals, reconciliations, and quarterly and annual forecasts, ensuring high‑quality deliverables that support strategic financial planning.Drive digitalization initiatives to enhance cost tracking, financial reporting, and analytics, improving process efficiency and strengthening financial controls.Direct all aspects of General & Administrative budgeting, accounting, and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate financial objectives and operational efficiency.Oversee all required financial reconciliations, implementing rigorous accounting controls to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.Strategically partner with Reporting, Property Accounting, and Shared Services to streamline financial operations, enhance reporting accuracy, and drive process efficiencies across the organization.Champion financial digitalization initiatives to deliver operational efficiencies, synergies, and process innovation.Lead internal and external audit processes for joint venture projects, providing comprehensive documentation, accounting insights, and recommendations to ensure compliance and transparency.

 

Invoices / Commitments

Process and review invoices to ensure compliance with commercial terms and correct accounting coding of costs.Support the Contracts & Procurement function by creating PRs and assisting in expediting PR/PO approval processes.

 

Other

Prepare accurate and timely trackers for Cash Calls, Joint Interest Billings, and Working Capital for management review.Ad hoc financial and accounting requests. Activities

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.Minimum 7 + years of experience in Oil & Gas finance or cost accounting roles.E&P accounting experience required.Advanced Excel skills required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong time management and ability to multitask and prioritize.Excellent organizational skills and commitment to deadlines.Ability to liaise effectively at all levels of the organization.
