Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Cost and Change Manager to oversee cost management, change control, and financial governance for large-scale infrastructure and development projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all cost and change management processes are effectively implemented, monitored, and controlled to meet project objectives. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy, transparency, and accountability.

What You'll Be Doing:

Develop and implement cost management and change control processes, ensuring alignment with project objectives, client requirements, and industry best practices.

Prepare and maintain detailed cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with approved standards.

Monitor and control project costs, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions to maintain financial performance.

Establish and manage a robust change control process, ensuring all changes to scope, schedule, or budget are properly evaluated, approved, and documented.

Collaborate with project teams to assess the cost impact of design changes, variations, and other project adjustments.

Prepare and present cost and change reports, including cost-to-complete forecasts, earned value analysis, and change logs, to senior management and stakeholders.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of change requests, including cost estimation, risk assessment, and impact analysis.

Liaise with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to validate cost estimates, negotiate pricing, and ensure alignment with project budgets.

Support procurement activities by providing cost input for tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and value engineering exercises.

Conduct regular cost reviews and audits to ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and procedures.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies, providing recommendations to optimize project delivery.

Act as the primary point of contact for cost and change management matters, ensuring effective communication and coordination with all stakeholders.

Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in cost and change management practices.

What’s Required for the Role:

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications such as MRICS, CCP, or PMP are highly desirable.

10+ years of experience in cost management, change control, or quantity surveying, preferably on large-scale infrastructure or development projects.

Strong knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.

Proficiency in cost management software and tools (e.g., CostX, Oracle Primavera, Aconex, or similar).

Experience in managing change control processes, including cost impact assessments and risk analysis.

Familiarity with various forms of contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC) and their cost implications.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
