Cost Accounting Manager
Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accounting Manager to oversee and enhance global cost and property accounting practices within our organization. This role involves providing strategic and tactical support to subsidiaries worldwide, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and delivering insightful financial analyses. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to streamline operations while mentoring the accounting team to expand their expertise. Responsibilities: • Provide leadership and direction to the global operations accounting team, fostering growth and development with attention to detail. • Develop and implement consistent policies and procedures for manufacturing costing and property accounting across all subsidiaries. • Analyze monthly standard cost changes and manufacturing variances, presenting findings to finance management for informed decision-making. • Collaborate with plant controllers annually to establish standard labor and overhead rates, delivering detailed analysis to management. • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies, including adherence to SOX 404 requirements. • Support acquisition accounting and plant consolidation processes, contributing to seamless transitions. • Partner with finance teams to optimize shared services and leverage global capability centers for operational improvements. • Drive initiatives to enhance forecasting accuracy, automate processes, and standardize practices globally. • Execute ad hoc financial projects and analyses as needed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution. • At least seven years of experience in accounting, with a focus on cost accounting or plant controllership. • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and work effectively in a team environment. • Strong initiative and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage ambiguous situations. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Willingness to travel up to 15%, including occasional extended trips to global plant sites. • Experience with global teams and familiarity with systems like Oracle or SAP is preferred.
