Spherion is seeking a Cost Accountant for our client in Fort Wayne, IN! This role is responsible for reporting on manufacturing variances and product costing, while also overseeing the lifecycle of capital projects and fixed assets. You will be a key contributor to the month-end close process and provide vital financial insights to the local management team. ...
Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end closing process, including journal entry preparation

Usage and labor variance reporting

Costing of products produced

Overhead reporting

Create and manage capital purchase orders

Ensure tax is assessed properly by vendors and work with Tax Manager on tax exemptions

Prepare the monthly capital forecast

Address AP issues related to capital purchase orders

Capitalize fixed assets

Assist with fixed asset count

Other duties as assigned

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Manufacturing Finance experience preferred, but not required

Knowledge of SAP and/or JDE preferred, but not required

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting, or similar field

Strong Excel skills

Two years of experience in similar role
