Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant with expertise in manufacturing to join our team in Portland, Maine. Responsibilities: • Analyze and report on manufacturing costs to ensure accurate financial data for decision-making. • Manage inventory valuation and monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) to maintain precise records. • Develop budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning and operational strategies. • Utilize advanced Excel functions to compile, analyze, and present financial data. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost control and efficiency within manufacturing processes. • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and reduce costs. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial operations. • Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for management review. • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to cost accounting. • Continuously refine and enhance cost accounting methodologies to align with industry best practices. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting. • Proficiency in inventory management and cost analysis. • Strong budgeting and forecasting skills. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Understanding of cost of goods sold (COGS) and its impact on financial reporting. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments.
